Ashton Gate Out of School Care runs a Breakfast Club for children attending Ashton Gate Primary School. We open at 7.45am, and children are offered a breakfast of cereal, fruit, toast and juice. (We are happy to cater for special dietary requirements by prior arrangement). Breakfast is served until 8.30am after which children finish their activities and get ready for school.
After breakfast, children are given the opportunity for free play or to join in a variety of activities, we also do cookery at least once a week. School opens at 8.45am, and a member of staff escorts Key Stage 1 children to their classrooms.
We first started our Breakfast Club in 2004. Thanks to the continued hard work of staff in providing and promoting a high quality service, we’ve seen the numbers of children using the service grow steadily and have moved from being fully supported by the New Opportunities Fund to complete financial sustainability.
Breakfast Club Award 2007 for Achieving Sustainability
This great achievement has been recognised by Kellogg's Breakfast Club Plus who have awarded the Club a fantastic prize of £1500. We plan to use the money for a gardening project that will include the children growing fruit and vegetables to use in our healthy (and tasty!) cookery projects.
Great thanks are due to Kellogg's and Eleanor, in particular, for their kind support. You can find out more about the award here. To look at the recent evening post article about our breakfast club click here.
For costs and details, please see our fees page. An annual registration fee applies.
